Performing Arts is an inclusive and encouraging department, which strives to empower student’s creativity through a wide range of artistic forms. Through life long transferable skills, we seek to inspire confidence and self-esteem; enriching student’s lives through Dance, Drama and Music.
Our ambitious curriculum nurtures students’ talents through a carefully constructed learning journey, which build upon their knowledge, interests and experiences; to promote a lifelong love of the arts. We strongly believe in success for all, and provide numerous opportunities through extracurricular activities for students to flourish.

Confidence

We encourage active participation, verbal contribution and involvement across the performing arts. We enable students to have confidence in their own knowledge and understanding, to apply skills in a progressive five-year curriculum.

A supportive environment is created, where students feel safe to take risks, explore their potential and develop as confident learners.

We follow the three principles of Dance: Performing, Choreography and Appreciation. Each of these strands are underpinned in each lesson and scheme of work. Students are assessed in each component and regularly share their work with their peers.
