Year 11 Prefects

At Ruskin, we pride ourselves on our leadership skills. To promote this, and to give our students a real voice, we have student leadership opportunities.

Our Year 11 students have the opportunity to becomes Prefects. To become a Prefect at Ruskin, students apply at the end of Year 10, submitting a written document as to why they feel they should be a Prefect and also have this signed by one member of staff who supports their application. Those students who wish to be Head and Senior Prefects then have to present their application to the rest of the year group and staff, and voting then takes place.

We also have ??? further Prefects who also work extremely hard in school. The role of all Prefects includes:

  • Upholding the Ruskin Core Values
  • Supporting the school with events
  • Supporting with duties at lunch and break
  • Mentoring younger students
  • There for all students to speak to if needed
  • Representing the school at external events

There are many leadership opportunities for all students in school and we encourage everyone to take part in these opportunities.
