Marie Curie was a Polish born scientist famous for her work in radioactivity and a twice winner of a Noble Prize. Marie Curie was the first women to win a Nobel Prize and the only women to have won in two categories. Marie Curie’s parent had to send her to university in secret as girls were not allowed to go to university in Poland at this time. Marie Curie was the first women to become a Professor at the University of Paris and helped significantly improve care for people during World War One by helping put x-ray machines in ambulances.
