Attendance is a key component to your child’s success

Ofsted

Ofsted Inspection 18th and 19th June 2024

A monitoring and inspection visit was carried out at Ruskin High School on 18th and 19th June 2024. The school are delighted to share the news of our recent inspection with you. The school was judged to be a “GOOD” school, maintaining its previous result from 2019. This is thoroughly well deserved, and sincere thanks go to all students, staff, parents and Governors for supporting the school in achieving this.

Inspectors were able to clearly see and feedback on aspects of our school that make us a successful and inclusive community school.  I have selected a few extracts from the report that highlight the vision, values and daily life at Ruskin:-

 Pupils are polite and courteous.

  • Pupils behave well.
  • The students enjoy attending school and value the warm and respectful relationships with staff and peers.
  • The school has increasingly high expectations for pupils’ learning.
  • Pupils benefit from the school’s determination to expand their horizons, such as through trips and visits.
  • The school has redeveloped the Curriculum to ensure that all pupils including SEND benefit from a suitably broad and ambitious programme of learning.
  • Teachers have strong subject knowledge and teachers deliver the curriculum well.
  • Pupils behave well in lessons and around school.
  • Pupils value the warm and respectful relationship that they develop with staff and peers.
  • The School and the Governors share a commitment to raising aspirations of pupils at the school.
