Dear Parent/Carer

Earlier this week the Department for Education published further guidance regarding the wearing of face coverings in school. This was in line with the Prime Minister’s address regarding the next steps the country will take as we move towards normality.

Over the past few days we have liaised with the Local Authority and Public Health England regarding the position.

A relaxation of current measures was part of the guidance and we will now expect the following:

1. Students will not be required to wear face coverings in class.

2. Students will be expected to continue to wear face coverings in communal areas in corridors and in the Dining Hall etc.

We will review this position at half-term and I will update you again.

It remains a national policy for students to regularly test. Thanks for your continued support at home testing and uploading results.

While we hope to be moving towards the end of this pandemic, we will still feel the effect of positive cases, which will lead to isolations for students. Where this happens, I share the frustrations of parents and students. We are doing our best to manage these situations.

Thank you for your continued support and patience.

Yours sincerely

Dean Postlethwaite
